This policy explains what Tabbed (gettabbed.app) collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account data from Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Optional profile data: a mobile number (used so group members can copy it for Bit payments) and your language preference.
- Group and expense data you enter: group names, members, expenses, amounts, currencies, categories, notes, splits and settlements, plus the exchange-rate table saved with each expense.
- Push notification data, only if you enable notifications: a browser push subscription (endpoint and keys).
- Session cookie: a single, essential, signed cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use it
- To sign you in and run the Service: groups, balances, settlements, CSV export.
- To show your name and (if set) phone number to members of groups you belong to.
- To send notifications to group members when an expense or settlement is added, if they opted in.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who else handles data
- Google authenticates you (Google OAuth).
- Railway hosts the Service and its database.
- Frankfurter (frankfurter.dev) provides exchange rates; only currency codes and dates are sent, never personal data.
- Your browser’s push service (e.g. Google, Apple, Mozilla) delivers notifications if you enable them.
What other people can see
Members of a group can see that group’s expenses and each member’s name and phone number. Anyone with a group’s invite link can join it, so share links carefully.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time using the contact below. Expenses you entered in shared groups may need to remain so other members’ balances stay correct; in that case your personal details will be removed or anonymised.
Security
Connections use HTTPS and sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong Google account password and two-step verification.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data and to object to its processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
Tabbed is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
